Welcome to Morton Hotel

Morton Hotel, located at 215 Main St in Niantic, CT, stands out as a unique lodging experience along the oceanfront. Rather than a conventional hotel, it operates much like a boarding house, catering primarily to long-term tenants. While reservations are not accepted and it is not suited for families with children, the establishment offers clean, modest rooms maintained by a dedicated and personable housekeeping staff. This blend of intimate accommodations and attentive management reshapes expectations of typical coastal stays.

The hotel's proximity to the ocean commands premium pricing, a reflection of its prime location. Its charm lies not in luxury but in authenticity and community atmosphere. Guests and visitors alike frequently highlight the excellent dining options available on site, including a convivial bar scene ideal for after-work gatherings or casual escapes from the summer heat. The attentive service, led by experienced bartenders and friendly waitstaff, complements a menu praised for regional specialties such as Rhode Island chowder and fresh seafood crab cakes.

Visitors looking for more than a place to sleep will appreciate the hotel's setting within a vibrant village known for antique and vintage shopping. The nearby beaches and a popular children's museum enhance the area's appeal, creating a multifunctional destination perfect for exploration and leisure.

Despite having smaller rooms, Morton Hotel benefits greatly from a meticulous approach to cleanliness and management attentiveness, transforming its former reputation into one of trust and satisfaction among guests. The enduring charm of the location paired with a warm, inviting atmosphere invites repeated visits—whether for a meal, a drink, or an oceanfront respite. Morton Hotel is, in essence, a welcoming enclave, where unpretentious comfort meets the genuine pulse of coastal living.

This is not a normal "hotel". It is more of a boarding house. You cannot make reservations to stay here and it is not kid friendly. Rooms/ apartments are clean, and the housekeeper is a wonderful person. Prices are a bit high, but living directly across from the ocean carries $$$.

The rooms are a bit small but the place use to have a bad rep it is now clean due to the wonderful cleaning/manager lady and the male manager is attentive and will do his best to help you right away. It’s hard to get into because the place is always full of long term tenants due to location and price
